Richard (“Dick”) Kramer
Richard (“Dick”) Kramer is a founder and the Chairman of ACA.
Dick has a strong background in business strategy and helped many foreign companies enter Nigeria successfully during his tenure as Managing Partner of Arthur Andersen & Co. Nigeria, which he started in 1978. Previously, he served as Managing Partner of Arthur Andersen in Benelux, Argentina, and Uruguay. Dick was formerly the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), served on the Lagos Business School Advisory Board and previously headed the technical team for Nigeria’s Vision 2010 Committee.
Dick holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and an accounting degree from Kansas University. In addition, he is a U.S.-Certified Public Accountant and a Nigerian Chartered Accountant.
Cyril Odu is the CEO of African Capital Alliance (ACA).
Cyril joined ACA in March 2012, after 39 years of a meritorious career in the oil and gas industry. At Mobil, Cyril was the Vice Chairman of the Board of Mobil Producing Nigeria where he had responsibility for Business Services and was also the Chief Financial Officer of the Upstream Affiliates of ExxonMobil in Nigeria. In addition to holding responsibility for Financial Controllers, Treasury and Tax functions, he also had In-Country administrative oversight over Procurement, Information Technology, Real Estate and Facilities Management.
Cyril attended the University of Ibadan and graduated with a degree in Geology and an MBA from the Texas Southern University.
Chief Ernest Shonekan
Chief Ernest Shonekan is a founder and a Non-Executive Partner of ACA.
Chief Shonekan has had a distinguished career in business and government, having served as Chairman and Managing Director of UAC of Nigeria Plc (a former subsidiary of Unilever), Nigerian Head of State, and Chairman of the Vision 2010 Committee. He was awarded the “Commander of Most Excellent Order of British Empire” by Queen Elizabeth II and “Grand Officer dans 1’Ordre de la Legion d’Honneur” by President Chirac.
Chief Shonekan holds a law degree from the University of London and is a member of the English and Nigerian Bars. In addition, he completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. He is a member of various corporate boards, including the Nigerian-German Chemicals Plc and MAERSK Line Nigeria Limited.
Chief Shonekan continues to sponsor outstanding students from universities in Nigeria for post-graduate studies abroad and remains actively involved in several nation-building initiatives via the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) as well as many other public-private sector partnerships.
Pascal Dozie is a founder and a Non-Executive Partner of ACA. He is also Chairman of MTN Nigeria Communications Limited and former Chairman of Diamond Bank Plc. Pascal combines experience as a development economist and econometrician with project management experience in Africa and Europe. He has long been associated with the Nigerian Capital Markets and is a former President of the Nigeria Stock Exchange. Pascal is a former Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) and was a key member of the Nigerian Vision 2010 Committee. He also served on the Lagos Business School Advisory Board.
Pascal received his degree in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Sam Oniovosa is an Executive Partner of ACA.
Prior to joining ACA in 2003, Sam garnered over 25 years of experience in financial services. He began his career at Arthur Andersen, where he spent four years working on various financial consulting and audit engagements. After leaving Andersen, he held increasingly senior positions in accounting, treasury, corporate finance, commercial banking and financial management at Guinness Nigeria PLC, First City Merchant Bank, Credite Bank and United Bank for Africa. At United Bank for Africa, Sam was a Group Head in corporate banking and later became Group Head for the Lagos area commercial banking business. He rose to become Deputy General Manager and Senior Credit Officer with responsibility for risk management.
Sam received a First Class degree in Economics from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and his MBA from the University of Lagos. He is a Nigerian Chartered Accountant and won the second best overall prize in the final qualifying examinations.
Sam is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, the Nigerian-South African Chamber of Commerce, Ikoyi Club 1938. He is also honorary treasurer for Berachah Foundation and provides scholarships to bright university students from his state of origin.
Afolabi Oladele is an Executive Partner of ACA.
Prior to joining ACA in 1999, Afolabi garnered 24 years of experience in the oil & gas industry. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Toronto Stock Exchange listed Addax Petroleum Corporation, one of the most successful independent oil companies to have grown out of Africa. Most of his career was with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (“NNPC”) where he served in various capacities culminating in his appointment as Group Executive Director for the downstream operations in 1995. While employed with NNPC, he was seconded at different times to OPEC, Mobil USA and Total France.
Afolabi currently serves as a director on the board of various companies including Deltatek/Delta Afrik, Addax and Oryx Group. He has also played a leading role in supporting the Delta Afrik charitable foundation and COPE.
Afolabi is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Nigerian Academy of Engineers. He holds a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering and post-graduate certificates in petroleum economics and management.
Paul Kokoricha is an Executive Partner of ACA.
Paul has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry and started his career with Arthur Andersen, providing accounting, consulting and audit services to various clients in financial services, oil & gas and manufacturing. He has extensive experience in private equity as well as business turnarounds, transformation and reorganization.
Paul sits on the board of Swift Networks, Vertex Energy Limited, Cornerstone Insurance Plc, DWC Drilling Limited, Banker’s Warehouse Ltd and Jasper Montessori School. He is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants Nigeria (ICAN) and the Lagos Business School Breakfast Club.
Paul is also involved in the Youth Enterprise Edge Forum aimed at building the capacity of young entrepreneurs and an HIV-AIDS awareness campaign targeted at secondary school students. He also supports the following local community initiatives: Apostles in the Market Place (AiMP), Government College Ughelli Old Boys Association, and All for God, All for Good.
Kofi Kwakwa is an Executive Partner of ACA.
Prior to joining ACA in 2015, Kofi was Founder and CEO of Sagevest Holdings. He was also Director of Strategic Investments, Joint Ventures & Alliances at Standard Bank Group, the largest banking group in Africa and a leading emerging markets bank. Prior to joining Standard Bank, Kofi was a Senior Manager at McKinsey & Company. He is a World Economic Forum Global Leader for Tomorrow.
Kofi obtained a BA in Mathematics and Economics with a concentration in Public Policy from Swarthmore College (USA) and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
