"We have worked with many people and organisations in making a reality the project of Pan-Atlantic University, but our experience with African Capital Alliance Foundation was unique in several ways. First, they were ready to help when the project was still a dream and many others were still in a “wait-and-see” mode. At that stage, help is worth two or three times as much, if only because of the injection of morale you receive from somebody trusting you when others are doubtful, and your own morale can often be a bit shaky. Then, they are different in that they are real partners, as they not only send cheques as promised (which, by the way, they do with great punctuality), but engage fully with the project. In our case this, meant several visits to campus to interact with our students, providing internship opportunities, passing on to us useful ideas, and creating opportunities for us to interact and build synergies with other projects. "One Precious Life (OPL) Academy is a non-profit organisation providing practical and scalable solutions to meet the talent demands of Nigeria’s construction industry. We are founded on the belief that Nigerian youth construction workers can deliver services to global standards if given access to the right skills and opportunities anchored on industry recognised standards. The ACA Foundation has been an instrumental partner, providing both the financial and strategic support we need to train young construction workers and place them in jobs. Because of the foundation's support, our beneficiaries are enjoying a steady source of income and have been linked to leading construction companies where they are getting exposed to best practices on the job. Top participants also receive state of the art tool kits and opportunities to obtain international certifications at par with global standards. "ACAF funded an Industry Breakfast Meeting, organised by the Centre, in 2017. The event brought together key players across the agribusiness value chain to explore, engage and discuss the ethical challenges in the Nigerian agribusiness sector and their consequences and solutions. Outcomes included a stronger resolve to contribute to embedding the practice of ethics in the sector while reinforcing the call for government regulators to step up their work of ensuring international standards for both imported and locally produced food. This initiative was relevant to the Centre's goal of impacting the practice of ethics."

"Africa Capital Alliance has always been an organisation that was close to the NESG considering that it was led by one of the Founding fathers of the Group. However, we never had any dealings with the Foundation or even knew of its existence until 2016. Ever since encountering the ACAF, the Foundation has provided significant support in a number of ways as follows:

• Through its annual grantee roundtable, it provides technical support in the area of different trainings and encouragement of grantee to grantee partnerships.
• Funding support through and annual grant to a special platform of the NESG called NASSBER. This special platform was conceived to lend a voice to public policy debates within Nigeria’s legislative process in a bid to positively impact business laws.

Working with ACAF has in these years has made the NESG more focused on results and impact in the national interest. Exposure to other grantees also helps sharpen our commitment to partnerships and collaborations aimed at developing an economy that is private sector driven. The ultimate legacy that the ACA is promoting through its foundation is that of “giving back to the environment where they operate”. It is a sustainability principle that all private sector operatives should seek to entrench."
